general conference

General Conference is this week and I am so excited! I love everything about Conference weekend. This year we are going to invite another family over to watch a session with us so they can have as much fun as we do when we watch Conference together @ home. I wanted to share some of our Conference traditions, well this will be our 2nd time together, but they're still traditions.
Conference Bingo with M&Ms (you get to eat them after you get "blackout")

Coloring art pages, playing Conference games

Every time the key words are said we get to eat that color starburst (last April there was a talk on the Priesthood, we had no more pink ones left afterwards)
What are your traditions for General Conference? If you want copies of the games, etc. I think I have them and I can email them to you. Just leave your email address as a comment.

I do a puzzle. Four sessions is enough to complete it and it keeps me awake and it's not so distracting that I lose focus on listening. The kids do the packets but I haven't googled them yet this year, so if you have a link already I'd love it. Have a good weekend!

I meant to think up something creative for us like this but life was a bit too crazy for me to get it together in time. I'd love a link! Love you guys!

So we tried your game with Emma explaining it to me from your blog. From my understanding from her we ended up with a paper for each person with the words I made up to go with the 4 colors of starbursts, one color for each word (like yours) but the big mistake where we messed up was, we put the bowl of starbursts in the center of the floor...they (10 kids) were jumping up and madly dashing for the bowl for each of the words....we stopped the game pretty quick... :)The next session we had them tally what they heard on their own paper that had the 4 words on it, with out saying anything and waiting until the end of conference to collect the starbursts...For the little kids that don't read we drew a picture by their word...family, love, temple...For the big kids that hadn't been listening up to par with what their nazi mother expected..On Sunday I had them each right 2 sentences when the apostles or the prophet spoke, about what they spoke on. If they didn't do this I would copy the talk off for them and have them read it and write 2 sentences...It worked well...heil hitler...(of course they all had little packets and bingo cards with halloween m&m's for each session also) Oh so fun...
