it's new to me

You know you are a grown-up when you buy a car, a grown-up one. It was a huge deal for me to buy this car and it still kind of makes me a little sick, making the commitment, not the car. I really like my new "hip mommy ride" the only real problem is that the interior is very light tan so I covered the seats with towels and no more snacks in the car for the kids. It is really great to have windows that roll down and go back up, air con is also a nice bonus. If anyone wants a ride in a 2007 Subaru Forester then come on over....

life is better at the beach

I spent most of the past weekend along the Oregon/Washington Coast. I met up with my buddy Jeremiah John and the rest of the Christenot clan in Astoria, OR where they gathered for a family reunion. I love Jeremiah, I miss him terribly now that we live more than 10 minutes apart and since he was going to be only 3 ½ hours away I couldn’t stop myself from driving down for a couple days. We had a wonderful time. I really enjoyed spending the weekend with his family, they were very kind to me and we all had a great time together. We did many fun things, but probably my favorite part was the beautiful day we spent in Long Beach, WA. Jeremiah bought a trick kite, the sun was out and everyone was so happy to see the Ocean. Jeremiah and I have been friends for over 5 years and it is always refreshing to me to spend time with someone who knows me so well. I love just talking to him, we have a fun friendship. I feel so lucky to have him in my life. I have always felt so blessed to be his friend. It doesn’t get much better than hanging out with Uncle Jay on the beach, lucky me.

I know, I know, too many pictures. But they are all so cute...I even narrowed it down a lot. A couple of Sundays ago I had everyone out at my house for a pre-4th of July family dinner. We had delicious taco salad, and red, white and blue jello salad for dessert. My house is small, but it was good having the family over. For Independence Day we all went to Kayak Point (about 45min. northwest from my parents house along the Puget Sound). Tons of families came, mostly from my parents ward, people kayaked, we ate and just enjoyed the sun and our freedom. As you can tell by the above pictures that Leah Rose was the star of the show. She is darling, she hates the grass and tries to avoid it as much as possible. She is mostly walking these days. She is a dancer anytime you tell her to dance she HAS to it is like she has been hypnotized or something and you should see her when my cell phone goes off. Hilarious. The holiday was too short, but it was really good. We ended the night by watching fireworks at Lynnwood High School, just the Tachers, Steph and I. I love the 4th of July.

After the race I ran errands, took a nap and then went to the Mariners Game with most of the Farrars, Joseph and Lisa's parents. It was a beautiful night at SAFECO Field and the Mariners won! It was a fun Seattle night. It is always fun to be with my family and I love watching the M's play. I have fond memories of the Mariners that date back to 1995 and even though the most of the players (if not all) aren't the same I am a fan for life. Refuse to Lose!

June 23, 2007 This was a big day. Emily spent the night so we could get to our 10k nice and early. We registered on line months previous for today and actually felt pretty confident even though we were not sure about the course we would be walking 6.4 miles. But don't even worry because we rocked it! It was fun, we didn't come in last and that was really are only goal. We want to do further athletic events so get ready the possibilities are endless....
